Sarah Muehlbauer is a regional and national award-winning artist working from the lens of chronic illness and disability. She’s also a witch and a professional reader by the name of Moonlight Woven, combining tarot, oracle, and dream interpretation out of Altered State of Mind in Milwaukee, WI.

Sarah has been a student of Tarot for the Wild Soul, The Moon Studio, and This Jungian Life’s “Dream School”, a year-long course in dreamwork. She received her BFA in Painting and Drawing (2008), as well as her MFA in Fibers and Material Studies (2010). She was awarded the VSA Arts National Emerging Artist Award (Grand Prize) in 2008, and was one of 9 to receive the Midwest Award for Artists with Disabilities in 2023, along with other grants and residencies. She has served as a cultural dramaturg and arts writer nationally and internationally, counted on to bring context and insights to visual and performing arts in the US and Canada.

Alongside dreamwork and drawing, Muehlbauer defies ableist logic as a practicing aerialist, performing gymnastic spectacle and writing narratives for the stage since 2009. Muehlbauer has written and performed four original full-length shows, and teaches aerial rope out of Warped Dance Studio in Milwaukee.
